‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalalawere were initially handed a 20 year sentence for murder but fast forward to today and the pair have just been released on parole after spending 4 years in prison.
The murder charges have been cleared. Alternatively, the South Gauteng High Court has found them guilty of culpable homicide for killing four children in a 2010 car crash.
“The Department of Correctional Services can confirm the parole placement of Katlego Molemo Maarohanye and Themba Shabalala as approved by the Correctional Supervision and Parole Boards (CSPBs) of Leeuwkop and Baviaanspoort with effect from 5 January 2017,”
“To this date, each parolee has served four years, one month and one day behind bars,” spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said in a statement.
